    Neptune Film Tenting

When one of our clients told us that using Fendwrap Neptune Films meant he could create a tent in half the time – we asked him to share his story with us.

Scott Hampton is the Paint Project Leader for Heesen Yachts. Discovering our range of products both at Heesen and in previous companies has changed the way he works, for good.

How did you build tents before you discovered Fendwrap’s Neptune Films?

“We used to create tents with strong, commercial plastic sheets which had to be fixed to MDF boards with battens and a staple gun – or hammer and nails,’ says Scott. ‘If we were using metal scaffold then we’d have to secure the plastic sheets to this as well, which, as well as being awkward was also a problem as it wasn’t always dust tight. This meant having the added time and expense of needing to install really good air extraction.”

How do you use the Neptune Films?

“Because the film is backed with a self-adhesive, two people can lay a stretch of about 15-20m at a time, easily. The films can be used to seal the floors, the walls, the ceiling, the scaffold – everywhere. On smaller jobs we use it to build the entire tent. The guys love it.”

Other clients have told us that being able to run the film from the floor, straight up the walls is really useful as this zone is where a lot of damage can occur. A seamless protective layer between the floor and the wall can give you peace of mind that there are no vulnerable areas within your tent.

Apart from ease of application, what else stands out about the Fendwrap Neptune Films?

“The films are thick and durable, We used to have problems when overspray landed on the old plastic sheets we used, but the Fendwrap films don’t let anything through and are really tough. They also really do stick and stay where you put them.”

The self-adhesive we use is 25% stronger than that on some of the other products out there, but it’s specially designed not to leave a residue behind when you pull it up. You can also move the sheets if you need to, as the adhesive is designed to re-stick, so you don’t need to use other products like tapes.

How does the Neptune Film compare to other products on the market?

“It is designed specifically for the yachting industry, so they’ve got the products right. They work every time.”

    Tenting Time Saving

Because we’re a niche manufacturer, we’ve taken the time to refine our films and tapes over the years, so that they work perfectly for building tents. We don’t think there are any other products out there that work better than ours.

Other benefits of the Fendwrap Neptune Films

As well as its quality, lots of our clients tell us they love using our Neptune Films because they can design the films to display their logo. Giving people the option to customise their tent environment has been a popular adaptation of the product. Not only is it a good branding opportunity, we’re told it also adds a professional feel to the space. As well as printing your logo onto your Neptune Film, we can also manufacture the rolls to specified lengths and widths to create a completely bespoke product.

Other time-saving products in our portfolio

It’s not just our films that have been optimised for the yachting industry. Our tapes have also been designed with tenting in mind. At 600ml, they’re half the industry standard width, making it easier for one person to handle, potentially a huge saving in man hours.

Our portfolio of tapes comprises six, different films which have each been carefully designed to work perfectly for a range of surfaces and situations, so you can always expect them to do their job without fail.

    Tempted to make the switch?

We’re always happy to send out samples of our products so you can get a feel for their quality. We’re confident that directly comparing any of our films and tapes to other products on the market will demonstrate their superior qualities.

If you’d like to talk to one of our team members about your next project and how our surface protection films, tapes and boards could help you get a head start, you can contact us by calling +44 (808) 169 1424, emailing protection@fendwrap.com or by using the chat app on our site.
